World Down Syndrome Day

Today, March 21st (or 3-21), is World Down Syndrome Day. As you may guess, this day in particular was chosen because Down Syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21, is characterized genetically by the triplicate of the 21st chromosome - there are three of that particular chromosome instead of the usual two.

To recognize and celebrate this day, take a moment to read an article or two to learn more about what life is like with a family member with DS or to find out what amazing things those with DS are capable of!
