Lekotek 4mi Race

This Saturday was chok-full of fun activities, starting with the early morning Fleet Feet 4 mile run to benefit Lekotek of Georgia.

For those not familiar with Lekotek, the organization supports children of disabilities by "encouraging development through exploration and discovery, teaching new and creative ways to make play successful and interactive, loaning adapted and traditional toys for families to use at home, and providing individualized support and resources to build on existing family strengths."

The race for the big kids and grownups was fun, but more satisfying and exciting was seeing Trent running his first fun run - a whole mile! He did great, finishing without stopping to rest, and jogging most the way despite some real hills! The fun run was also enjoyable because of the diversity of runners - including many of the Lekotek kids and others with disabilities.

After the races, we got to do a Home Depot kids workshop where Trent made a wooden helicopter. There was also a bouncy house and other fun stuff. It was so much fun, we will be doing it next year for sure!
