School Evaluation Update

The evaluation team met today and officially determined that Chase was eligible for preschool through the public school system based on two factors: speech and language delay, as well as significant developmental delay (meaning he has gross motor, fine motor, and cognitive delays). The great news is that there is room for him at the elementary school where big brother already goes to school!

The next step is for the teacher at the school to make an appointment with me for an IEP meeting where we put together an "Individualized Education Plan" (IEP) which lists our goals for Chase and how the school will meet those needs through the classroom and therapy. We don't have a date for the meeting yet, but it will take place before Chase starts school on March 10th. So far so good....

  1. I can't believe he will be starting school in about a month! We are about to go through the same process with Emily, but because her birthday isn't until May, she won't start school till the fall I believe.
