One of the best things about our new house is that it is in a neighborhood with a pool! We have been taking advantage of it as much as we can, not only for playdates with neighbors, but in the evenings on the weekends just before dinner. It is so much fun to see how the kids have progressed in their swimming from last year, and to see how they are becoming more independent in the water!
Trent finally has the hang of swimming without having to hang on mom or dad, and Chase has a new "puddle jumper" float that allows him to float almost by himself. Caroline, on the other hand, gets so excited in the water that she just kicks kicks kicks!
Chase has loved his time in the pool, but while my hands are full with the baby, he wanders over to whichever neighbors (strangers) are closest and introduces himself. Usually with a roar of a monster and a big smile. Then he'll proceed to flirt and entrap them in a game of catch or ask someone to take him for a dip in the pool. So far, everyone has been delighted by Chase's friendliness and loves to oblige his requests. It's hilarious to watch. He really works a room and knows how to make a friend. Oh what a guy :)
