It's 3/21 today - a number with a greater significance for those of us with kids with Trisomy 21, meaning three copies of the 21st chromosome....3/21.... Down Syndrome. It's a day to cheer on our kids and friends who work year round and put in extra effort to achieve all kinds of skills that would surprise you!
We are so proud of Chase - all his many abilities, his love for his family, and his friendliness to just about everyone he meets! We are so blessed to have had our eyes opened to what love and joy truly mean, and to the amazing grace that God gives all of us despite our many imperfections!
Take a moment today to read about Down syndrome, to advocate for a family member or friend, and most importantly to love on those around you - especially those with an extra chromosome today!
Here's to a year of advocacy, acceptance, and opportunity for all.

"On this day, let us reaffirm that persons with Down syndrome are entitled to the full and effective enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms. Let us each do our part to enable children and persons with Down syndrome to participate fully in the development and life of their societies on an equal basis with others. Let us build an inclusive society for all." - The Secretary-General of the United Nations, World Down Syndrome Day 2012. .
