Banff National Park, Canada

One of the reasons why we decided to trek into Canada was to experience the Banff National Park in Alberta.

We stayed in Lake Louise at the Paradise Lodge and visited both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. For July, it was a bit chilly, which was a nice break from Atlanta's heat!

We were excited to see huge glaciers and amazing crystal blue water that rivaled the Caribbean! Apparently the dust that is created as the Glaciers carve into the mountain gets swept into the lakes along with melting ice, which creates the surprisingly bright turquoise water.

Remember this gorgeous hotel from Sean's season of the Bachelor, when the girls jumped into the freezing water with him? Thankfully we  merely hiked - no swimming for us!

See posts from the rest of our trip - (and more to come!)
